About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a NC/CNC Machine Operator for the 1st shift, with core hours from 6:00am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $22.52 per hour, though actual salaries may vary based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations. The role involves performing a wide range of machining operations on two or more Numerically Controlled Machines, assisting in equipment setup, and working with operation sheets, tapes, and blueprints. Key responsibilities include changing tooling, loading automatic tool changes, and ensuring quality standards by checking parts with adjustable or fixed gauges. The operator will also assist in troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions in machining control units, perform various internal operations to produce finished products, and manage material movement to and from workstations. Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area, machines, and control units is essential. The position also requires performing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, such as minor maintenance including cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication, and tightening loose bolts. Unusual conditions must be reported to supervision, and all standard safety regulations must be followed. The duties require the application of specialized knowledge and experience, along with judgment to plan and execute sequences of operations or procedures within established methods and precedents. This job also includes the occasional requirement to assist and instruct one other person.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Minimum one (1) year’s previous work experience in CNC operation
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • Reside within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of machining operations on two or more Numerically Controlled Machines
  • Assist in the setting up of the equipment as directed
  • Work with operation sheets, tapes and blueprints as required
  • Change tooling
  • Load automatic tool changes
  • Maintain quality standards by checking parts with adjustable or fixed gauges
  • Assist in isolating and correcting malfunctions in machining control units
  • Perform various internal operations related to producing a finished product
  • Move material to and from work stations
  • Maintain work area, machines and control units in a clean, neat and orderly condition
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities such as minor maintenance that includes cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication and tightening loose bolts
  • Refer unusual conditions to proper supervision
  • Follow standard or prescribed safety regulations
  • Plan and perform sequence of operations or procedures within limits of standard or recognized methods and established precedent
  • Provide occasional assistance and instruction to one other person
