The Academic Year internship program offers students the opportunity to work on real projects and contribute to meaningful work over two full semesters, from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027. This paid program is designed to help curious, driven individuals interested in media, entertainment, and technology to learn and grow, providing robust networking, learning, and professional development opportunities. Interns will be part of a collaborative culture and receive support for their growth, including paid time off for mental health, academic exams, and personal holidays, a complimentary Peacock subscription, free admission to Universal Parks, and access to mental health resources. The internship is based at NBC Sports Headquarters in Stamford, CT, offering perks like free shuttle service and discounted admission to Chelsea Piers Athletic Club.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Deep knowledge and fandom of the sports world
  • Copywriting
  • Basic graphic design and video editing (Adobe Photoshop or Premiere preferred)
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written
  • Must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proactive, positive, reliable, and tremendous follow-through
  • Critical/Analytical Thinking: candidate demonstrates ability to work with complex/nebulous data and analytics to arrive at go-to-market recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Manage various marketing calendar Smartsheet's within the NBC Sports Gaming team
  • Update metrics for email & Points Bet
  • Assist with a variety of long-term projects for NFL, Olympics & more
