This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly. The Sr. Manager I, Surgical Field Sales (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for driving sales operations and achieving performance targets for a regional or sub-function of sales. You will build an effective sales team through training and coaching while applying advanced knowledge and experience to meet objectives. Specifics include: Drive national sales execution and achieve agreed sales and performance targets Develop and execute strategic business plans; manage sales and expense budgets Optimize resource allocation to deliver strong commercial results Maintain and grow key accounts while developing new business opportunities Build and manage relationships with key decision makers, KOLs, and patient associations Serve as a communication bridge between Senior Leadership and the field sales organization Support U.S. Sales with expert‑level equipment demos, installations, and operating‑room training Lead and support national initiatives, including product launches, AAO/ASCRS, and brand programs Collaborate with Sales Leadership and USPD on NSM/MYM planning and training content development Partner cross‑functionally with Marketing, Franchise, R&D, Services, and Clinical teams on current and future equipment initiatives Provide advanced technical and clinical education, in‑services, and mentorship across the sales organization Gather and communicate market intelligence, competitive insights, and pricing trends Develop sales capability through coaching, training, and leadership of key commercial programs Account coverage and regional responsibilities will be defined based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Proven Experience
  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Travel 50 – 75% on a consistent basis

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency in presentation skills, business acumen, previous training experience.
  • Demonstrate high level of technical aptitude on Phaco development, visualization, femtosecond cataract, and all OR related protocols.
  • Previous history of leading coordination efforts across functional team.
  • High customer presence with field sales teams, ability to troubleshoot in difficult OR situations, demonstrated ability to organize priorities and time across multiple stakeholders.
