About The Position

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing Nassau Candy’s Sales & Account Management team to drive sustainable growth and strengthen customer relationships. This role plays a critical part in setting sales strategy, managing key national accounts, and implementing best practices that improve performance and profitability. The Sales Manager partners closely with cross-functional teams to align sales execution with company objectives and to ensure long-term customer success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in Sales, Category Management, Customer Development, or a related field within CPG, confectionery, or specialty food.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role with a proven track record of driving growth and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to lead with confidence, influence outcomes, and present insights clearly.
  • Agile, adaptable, and comfortable navigating change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resourceful problem-solver with strong business judgment and initiative.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly document plans, insights, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the Sales & Account Manager team to support professional development and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Develop, introduce, and monitor sales metrics, KPIs, and targets to measure effectiveness, performance, and growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Management, Customer Support, Marketing, Product Development, and other internal teams to drive alignment and execution.
  • Take ownership of select large national accounts, developing strategies to grow revenue, expand relationships, and maximize long-term value.
  • Analyze customer performance, market opportunities, and business trends to identify growth opportunities and optimize selling strategies.
  • Support Sales & Account Managers during negotiations to ensure pricing, margins, and profitability targets are met.
  • Represent Nassau Candy at industry trade shows, customer meetings, and relevant events to strengthen customer networks and brand presence.
  • Provide regular updates and business reviews to senior leadership, including account status, performance results, forecasts, and market insights.
  • Evolve the sales forecasting and planning process in partnership with Marketing and Product Development to better anticipate customer and market needs.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers, delivering a high level of service that builds confidence and long-term loyalty.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
