About The Position

The National Sales Director is responsible for driving transient leisure and group revenue (defined as 10 rooms per night or more) through strategic account leadership, personalized high touch relationship management and proactive market representation. This role serves as a brand ambassador representing the Ranch in group and leisure sales efforts both internally and externally. This position is remote.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of luxury hotel or resort sales experience with a strong focus on group and leisure markets.
  • Proven success selling within the luxury or ultra-luxury segment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of CRM, sales, and PMS platforms (Opera and OSEM preferred).
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide, influence, and coordinate stakeholders toward shared objectives.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive guest and company information.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work flexible hours as required.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials on property when necessary.

  • Experience with destination resorts and knowledge of the Western U.S. market preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect, solicit, and secure new luxury group and leisure business.
  • Manage and respond to all incoming group and leisure leads as assigned by market and directed by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Drive sustained revenue growth through strategic account planning, repeat business, and long-term relationship development.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, turnover and collection of group deposits.
  • Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of luxury leisure and group accounts including top-producing travel advisors, consortia partners, preferred agencies, and key group intermediaries.
  • Maintain a strong presence in key domestic feeder markets through sales calls, hosted events, trade shows, and industry functions.
  • Research industry organizations, competitive set activity, and market trends; recommend innovative strategies to generate new demand.
  • Lead all aspects of group contracting; ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand and revenue standards.
  • Collect and track deposits and contractual milestones in coordination with Finance and Revenue teams.
  • Ensure complete and accurate group turnovers to the Events and Operations teams including detailed requirements, timelines, and expectations.
  • Create, implement, and enforce OSEM standard operating procedures (SOPs); ensure database accuracy, clean account management, and timely data entry.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and ad hoc sales reports to senior leadership.
  • Update and manage offers with consortia and group distribution partners; communicate strategy and needs across channels including Relais & Châteaux, Cvent, Conference Direct, and similar platforms.
  • Work closely with internal sales colleagues and third-party representatives to expand brand awareness and market reach.
  • Oversee and coordinate site inspections, sales trips, FAM trips, and hosted client experiences.
  • Participate in internal teams on market activity, business mix, and sales initiatives through departmental and Ranch-wide meetings.
  • Foster strong cross-departmental relationships to ensure alignment between Sales, Events, Operations, Revenue, and Marketing.
