About The Position

The National Quality Improvement Manager provides strategic guidance, coaching, and resources to Quality Assurance staff and leaders across seventeen states. This role supports consistent quality standards and fosters a strong culture of continuous improvement across services. This is a non-supervisory position focused on mentoring, influencing, and equipping QA teams to strengthen performance, improve quality practices, and translate data into meaningful action. The National Quality Improvement Manager partners closely with state QA leaders, advocates for state level needs, supports onboarding new QA staff, and promotes collaboration and shared learning across locations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in health, human services, Quality/Performance Improvement, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of quality assurance/quality improvement experience in healthcare, multi-site or multi-state healthcare, human services, or Medicaid-funded settings.
  • Data Reporting: Ability to interpret KPI dashboards, audit findings, and convert insights into practical actions.
  • QA/QC: Working knowledge of QA document development and management as well as working knowledge of quality audit methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Technical Proficiencies: Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint/Teams, CoPilot, document management systems, dashboards/BI viewers, Microsoft 365, excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Industry Experience: Experience in home and community-based services (HCBS), behavioral health, long-term services and supports (LTSS), or similar.
  • Regulatory familiarity: Familiarity with Medicaid waiver programs, state compliance frameworks, and accreditation.
  • Professional certifications: CARF
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Therap experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and coach to QA staff and leaders across multiple states, promoting consistent quality practices and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with state QA leaders to review performance goals, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze QA metrics, KPI dashboards, and audit findings to identify trends and areas for operational improvement.
  • Translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for QA teams and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain standardized QA documentation, toolkits, and resources to support consistent quality practices.
  • Participate in quality audit activities including preparation, readiness checks, and post audit reviews.
  • Support the implementation of corrective and preventive action plans to address audit findings and quality gaps.
  • Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching to strengthen QA team capabilities and performance.
  • Build strong partnerships with state leadership and QA teams to align quality initiatives across multiple locations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, standardize best practices, and drive continuous quality improvement across programs.
