About The Position

Camping World Holdings, Inc., headquartered in Lincolnshire, IL, is America’s largest retailer of RVs and related products and services, serving RV consumers since 1966 through its Camping World and Good Sam brands. The company operates a national network of RV dealerships, service centers, and customer support centers, along with an extensive online presence. The National Parts Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing parts procurement, supplier relationships, and inventory support across this network of RV dealerships and service centers.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of proper and safe use of equipment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of the activities, methods, procedures, and policies of the Parts Department
  • General knowledge of RV parts, components, and product installation activities
  • Valid driver’s license may be required
  • Travel as business needs arise
  • Excellent communication and listening skills to resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner, both over the phone and in person
  • Ability to accept additional tasks, duties, and/or direction from management

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Five years of RV or automotive parts experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain excellent relations between manufacturers, vendors, and stores
  • Respond to incoming telephone calls, emails, and other forms of communication in a courteous, timely, and professional manner
  • Train location management and staff on systems, processes, and procedures
  • Support the purchasing function and relevant departments; communicate any supply issues that may impact business operations
  • Act as the interface between suppliers and relevant departments on purchasing processes, new projects, and activities
  • Monitor and advise on any issues that present a risk or opportunity to the organization
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier landscape
  • Provide analysis on new and existing costs and review cost-reduction activities
  • Prepare reports and updates as required
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Negotiate contracts and improve pricing and terms of business with suppliers, utilizing best-practice procurement tools and methods
  • Monitor active parts requests and look up and place orders with manufacturers and vendors in a timely manner
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and maintain consistent, professional communication
  • Ensure a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and purchasing policies
  • Conduct research for new parts, components, and suppliers
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors
  • Acknowledge all guidelines and policies as described in the company policy handbook
  • May cross-train to perform other duties as assigned
