Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining and expanding established national accounts through direct sales, prospecting, product demonstrations, and promotion of innovative product offerings. Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 per year

  • Must be able to travel extensively by car in the assigned region and by air on occasion for up to 70% of the time.
  • Four-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet websites, and other sources.
  • Travels throughout the assigned territory to call on national account customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on the sales floor or by phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or a catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customers based on knowledge of the company’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports on business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Present, execute, and administer Corporate Sales Programs.
  • Works with the marketing department to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Coordinates customer training by scheduling and organizing demo events, shows, etc., within the assigned territory and upon management request.
  • Manage coop and/or advertising budgets for each account.
  • Create strategic growth sales plans and proposals for each account and for each calendar year.
  • Gathers and provides new customer data for new account set up for the corporate office.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
  • Stay on top of market changes and competitive activities within accounts.
  • Attend trade shows.
