Atlas Roof Shingles, Underlayments & Ventilation is seeking a National Account Manager in a remote capacity located near any major airport. The National Accounts Manager executes competitive, innovative, and motivating business and marketing plans to secure, grow, and convert business to Atlas. The mission of the National Accounts team at Atlas is to proactively facilitate foundational account growth and build bridges across regional borders. This position reports to the Director of National Accounts.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years in the manufacturing/construction industry
  • Minimum of two years of outside field sales or management experience in the building material industry specialized in preferred roofing products
  • Analyze information and accordingly prepare an action plan.
  • Establish close, internal working relationships with Regional Managers, Field Sales, Account Executives, and assigned customers personnel.
  • Make quick judgments in determining the validity and credibility of information coming from external sources.
  • Manage time and expenses through advance travel planning for best return for expenses.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge, monitor industry to assess new developments, and anticipate industry trends.
  • Works national shows, as assigned.
  • Travel Expectations: 50-70%

Responsibilities

  • Retail Account Management - Manage retail account(s) along with the associated Retail Sales team.
  • Maintain relationship with retail purchasing team: Build and maintain a strong relationship with their purchasing teams to work through and respond to daily account concerns, annual program negotiations, pricing discussions, and line reviews.
  • Manage Atlas Retail sales team: Manage team of Retail Sales Associates to ensure continual value-added engagement at the store level, along with growing sales across the full Atlas product offering.
  • Manage On-Site Analyst: Engage in and manage the tasks associated with the On-Site Analyst position.
  • Customer Development - Evaluate your customers on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Review volume trends and identify branch/member issues: Investigate customer volume trends and use this data in discussions with Directors, Corporate, and Regional Sales Managers to understand customer trends.
  • Execute, document and monitor regional & corporate programs: Any local, regional, or corporate programs for each assigned accounts should be monitored, facilitated, and evaluated for success on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Needs Identification and Idea Generation: Proactively observe and communicate to uncover account needs, then develop impactful, value‑driven ideas that overcome roadblocks and advance account success.
  • Multi-level relationships: Develop relationships with accounts at various levels of the organization and departments.
  • Meeting coordination and follow-through: Pre-plan meetings with confirmation, a mutual agenda, and follow-up outlining action items to recap no later than 24 hours after the meeting ends for all parties involved.
  • Cold calling inactive accounts: Annually set appointments with the decision makers to determine potential sales volumes of Atlas’ products, opportunities, and feasibility of supplying products.
  • Entertainment: Proactively engage in entertainment/meal opportunities to build relationships and business growth.
  • Internal Communication - Communicate with Atlas Directors, Region Sales Managers, Territory Reps, and corporate counterparts is key to driving success with assigned accounts
  • Cross-regional coordination: Manage accounts that cross regional borders, evaluate opportunities and resolve issues with open dialogue.
  • Pricing: Price management to guide, gather and facilitate information between corporate customer purchasing counterparts and Atlas Directors.
  • Customer information: Secure and maintain customer profile information and communicate changes in a timely manner to the Atlas management team.
