About The Position

We’re seeking a field-based commercial professional to grow adoption of our next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms—GridION and PromethION—across R&D laboratories in academia, government, biotech, and pharma. You’ll prospect, develop, and close complex deals (new business, application development, and supply agreements) while protecting and expanding our installed base through strategic account planning. This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in one of the following states: Florida, Texas, or California.

Requirements

  • Education: BSc (Life Sciences preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of field-based commercial experience, and 3+ years with scientific instrumentation and/or high-tech devices in biotech/lab environments; or relevant inside-sales/distribution experience with ONT technology or in the NGS space.
  • Commercial excellence: Territory planning, forecasting, pipeline discipline; track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Communication & influence: Skilled presenter and negotiator; strong communicator across multi-disciplinary, international teams.
  • Operating rhythm: Excellent organization/time management; confident under pressure with minimal supervision in a matrixed sales/service model.
  • Tools: Proficiency with CRM systems; data-driven, budget-minded, and fluent in the modern sales process.
  • Languages: English (Fluent), Spanish (Fluent) and Portuguese (Fluent)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NGS workflows (library prep, sequencing, analysis) and the genomics buyer journey.
  • Experience in co-selling with Field Applications/Scientific Support.

Responsibilities

  • Own the territory plan: Coordinate with Inside Sales, Field Applications, Sequencing Specialists, and Marketing to design and execute territory strategies aligned to LATAM objectives.
  • Responsible for helping our local Channel Partner Team/network in identifying, creating, qualifying, and capturing new business
  • Help to sustain existing business by building strong relationships with key customers and the local channel partner team
  • Development and execution of sales strategies in collaboration with the local channel partner team/network and ONT management team.
  • Drive revenue: Build a robust funnel, lead consultative sales cycles, and deliver accurate forecasts; consistently meet/exceed quota.
  • Work with Channel Partners to grow key accounts: Create detailed growth plans; expand usage and secure application/supply agreements within base accounts.
  • Engage leaders & KOLs: Build and manage top-tier relationships across diverse research domains; develop reference sites and champions.
  • Disrupt the market: Plan and run strategic activities that challenge the status quo in NGS and expand nanopore technology adoption.
  • Represent the brand: Coordinate/participate in local and regional seminars, workshops, roadshows, and conferences.
  • Be the voice of the customer: Provide timely marketing feedback, competitive insights, and best-practice playbooks to internal teams.
  • Responsible for training channel partner sales teams on processes and products
  • Stay sharp & compliant: Complete training and demonstrate proficiency; maintain CRM hygiene, expense control, call reporting, funnel and competitive entries; steward company assets; and company policy.
