About The Position

Primary Focus: Student Belonging & First Fire Program Leadership The NAC Relational Aid works directly with the NAC Peer Success Coach to foster meaningful relationships between first-year Indigenous students and the broader campus community. This includes outreach to students in First Year Seminar (FYS), LEAD, and the Identity Centers. The Relational Aid collaborates closely with the NAC Student Support Office Manager to track student contact and facilitate recruitment into the First Fire Indigenous Program—a fellowship project that welcomes first-year Indigenous students through seasonal gifts and teachings. Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain connections with first-year Indigenous students.
  • Serve as lead student facilitator for the First Fire Program, organizing seasonal gift distribution and teachings.
  • Collaborate with NAC Peer Success Coach on mentorship and community outreach.
  • Partner with Identity Centers and student organizations to strengthen inter-community ties.
  • Maintain records of outreach and referrals to ensure no student is left behind.
