About The Position
Mutuels / Sportsbook Cashier – WarHorse Gaming SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Mutuels/Sportsbook Cashier is responsible for accurately processing wagers, issuing tickets, and handling payments while delivering a high-energy, guest-focused experience. This role is essential in creating an exciting, fast-paced environment during live racing and sportsbook operations. PAY & SCHEDULE: $18.50/hour plus tips Flexible scheduling based on business needs Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and all live racing events ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming Omaha, LLC Accurately writes, verifies, and processes payouts for sports and horse racing wagers Follows all procedures related to ticket sales and payouts in compliance with gaming regulations Explains wagering rules, betting lines, and odds to guests in a clear and engaging manner Maintains and balances an assigned cash bank throughout the shift Ensures accuracy in all cash, card, and ticket transactions Provides exceptional guest service while addressing questions, concerns, or issues Maintains knowledge of current sports, racing events, and property offerings Keeps work area clean, organized, and fully stocked Adheres to all company safety standards and operational procedures Stays informed on industry trends and department updates Participates in meetings and training sessions as required Maintains a professional appearance at all times Performs additional duties as assigned JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age or older High School Diploma or GED required Previous sportsbook, mutuels, teller, or gaming experience preferred Minimum 1 year of guest service and cash handling experience preferred Strong math skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar systems) CORE COMPETENCIES: Guest Focus Communication Cash Handling Accuracy Problem Solving Flexibility & Adaptability Team Collaboration Ethical Conduct Composure Under Pressure WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced, guest-facing environment during high-volume events Must be able to stand for extended periods and handle a high volume of transactions CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSING: Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: Ho-Chunk, Inc. / WarHorse Gaming is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements
