About The Position

This assignment provides education to students, grades K-6, inspiring attitudes that promote music appreciation and expressionism in and out of the learning environment. Provide education of music history/traditions, techniques, and creations. Arrange and facilitate student musicals/productions. Provide systematic academic intervention and enrichment for students. Deliver inclusive instruction integrating students of all levels and abilities. Encourage parent/guardian involvement in student learning through open houses, volunteering, parent/teacher conferences, etc. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with a Music endorsement and an Elementary Education endorsement through passing CO PLACE or CO PRAXIS, or CDE approved out of state content exam .
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to change.
  • Possesses computer and technology skills.
  • Effectively works with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

  • Capable of understanding and following both complex oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive learning environment and effective management structures that promote effective teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Establish instructional routines that foster student engagement through questioning, speculation, and originality.
  • Collaborate with specialists to provide inclusive and research-based learning opportunities for students with special needs.
  • Promote a respectful classroom environment that values student dignity and is perceived as fair and consistent.
  • Incorporate additional learning opportunities for advanced and non-proficient students.
  • Maintain highly organized classroom processes, procedures, and data collection to maximize instructional time.
  • Motivate, engage, and empower learners to track and monitor their own learning.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments using contemporary tools and resources aligned with 21st-century learning.
  • Collaborate with educators across grade levels or subject areas to create interdisciplinary connections and influence school-wide curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Demonstrate mastery of content and ensure curriculum is rigorous and relevant to all students.
  • Deliver content that connects to real-world applications and student experiences.
  • Align Colorado Academic Standards with instructional objectives, strategies, activities, materials, resources, and assessments.
  • Differentiate lesson planning to meet individual student needs.
  • Use data management tools to analyze results and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Provide high-quality, accurate, constructive, and timely feedback that supports students in achieving their highest potential.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and learning opportunities.
  • Utilize technology and other communication channels (e.g., websites, podcasts) to share information with stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to support proactive problem-solving.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and other required events.
  • Apply professional learning to improve instructional programming and student outcomes.
  • Advocate for and lead initiatives that enhance student success in and beyond the classroom.
  • Use the professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
