About The Position

The Municipal Evaluations Team at S&P Global is a dynamic group responsible for pricing approximately 1.0 million US-based municipal bonds with a variety of structures, ratings, priorities, durations, and disclosures. We operate in a time-sensitive environment where collaboration and precision are key. Our team is known for its expertise in evaluating the economics and viability of taxable bonds. This position is responsible for weighing various factors associated with the economics and viability of a variety of taxable bonds in his/her portfolio, and expressing an evaluated level on each bond, each trading day. The pricing team is a small unit operating in a time-sensitive environment. Each person on the team participates in all activities necessary to manage and maintain the product. Requirements

  • Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or mathematics.
  • Detail oriented, comfortable collaborating with teammates, and communicating with customers.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Municipal bond evaluations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with capital markets, including a role as a trading assistant, market analyst, or a pricing analyst.
  • Knowledge of VBA or SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Pricing all taxable bonds, including highly rated to low rated, non-rated, zero coupon, variable coupon, and pre-refunded, in the Muni bond universe
  • Reviewing current trade and quote activity for a portfolio of bonds with respect to existing pricing levels
  • Tracking evolving market conditions and the way conditions impact yields, ratings, coupons, and bid/offer margins and their associated spread rates
  • Adjusting bond prices
  • Documenting decision making
  • Responding to customer inquiries on pricing decisions
