About The Position

The Multimedia Project Coordinator at Texas A&M Health Marketing and Communications plays a vital role in bringing our mission to life through powerful visual storytelling. Working within our brand framework, this position coordinates the planning, logistics, and execution of photography projects that showcase the people, spirit and impact of Texas A&M Health. This position also manages the digital asset management (DAM) platform, PhotoShelter, keeping our visual library organized, accessible, and ready to inspire. We’re looking for a teammate with an eye for compelling imagery, a passion for collaboration, and a deep love for their craft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of related experience in photography, graphic design, marketing, web development, or multimedia production.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, fine arts, visualization, or a related creative field.
  • Five years of professional experience in photography.
  • Demonstrated experience creating content specifically for social media platforms.
  • Experience with drone photography and videography.
  • Proficiency with gimbals, external lighting, light modifiers, and audio/video recording accessories.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems and workflows.
  • Ability to create and export original artwork across various file types and platforms
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly photo editing and asset preparation
  • Proficiency with macOS systems and utilities.
  • Mastery of DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras, continuous and strobe lighting, and post-production editing techniques.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification (Drone Certification).

Responsibilities

  • Captures high-quality photography for print, web, social media, and video use visuals that tell the story of Texas A&M Health.
  • Conceptualizes and coordinates visual content that not only inspires but also aligns with the university’s brand identity and messaging.
  • Sets up and operates cameras, lighting, and other equipment in both studio and field environments.
  • Edits, retouches, and prepares images for publication, maintaining consistency with brand tone and visual guidelines.
  • Photographs special events and on-location sessions as needed, capturing moments that reflect the brand’s values and culture.
  • Schedules, photographs, edits, and delivers professional portraits for executives and clinicians.
  • Sources original and stock images for internal publications, including the digital newsroom, Vital Record.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of photography trends, techniques, and technology, applies new ideas that elevate brand expression.
  • Manages the PhotoShelter digital asset management (DAM) platform, organizing, tagging, and archiving photos for easy access and reuse.
  • Leads efforts to restructure and optimize the DAM system, designing an efficient and scalable workflow.
  • Maintains and enhances the DAM environment, continuously seeking innovative ways to improve organization, discoverability, and use of visual assets.
  • Supports the operation of StudioPod, a self-service headshot booth, as needed.
  • Writes clear, accurate photo captions, cutlines, metadata and alt text that support accessibility compliance and ensures images are contextually aligned with brand use across media channels.
  • Proactively manages assigned projects from concept to completion, coordinating meetings, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time execution.
  • Utilizes Asana (project management) to track project progress, document processes and details, facilitate clear team communication and maintain organized workflows.
  • Serves as a resource for the greater Texas A&M Health community, consulting on photography needs to keep visuals on-brand and story-driven.
  • Supports special initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
