About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia & Immersive Education Design Specialist at UL Research Institutes with our Institute of Research Experiences & Education. While this position is remote and will require some travel, it is our preference that the candidate lives in Atlanta or Chicago. The Multimedia Design Specialist is responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing multimedia content for various marketing communications platforms, as well as immersive education experiences. The Multimedia Specialist has a deep level of expertise in multimedia production and will actively oversee and contribute to complex projects. We translate the findings of our research institutes into compelling educational materials, bringing to life scientific concepts using contemporary best education practices to create learning opportunities for a wide variety of secondary through postgraduate students. Our academic collaborations and support for the next generation of safety scientists likewise reach across the educational spectrum, including partnerships that reach out to students who are underrepresented in STEM fields. Through all of our programs, we aim to unlock the diverse perspectives that are essential for solving the world’s most pressing safety and sustainability issues.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in multimedia, digital media, graphic design, or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in multimedia production or a related role.
  • Experience in multimedia software and tools, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Strong creative skills to develop engaging multimedia content and concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of multimedia software and equipment, including video editing, graphic design, and 3D modeling tools.
  • Ability to support multiple projects independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • An eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality multimedia content.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new multimedia technologies and trends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address technical and creative challenges.

  • Ability to lead or mentor team members on multimedia projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and edit multimedia content, including videos, animations, images, graphic design, and interactive media for distribution on marketing communications channels and use in immersive classrooms.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in multimedia software and equipment, such as Adobe Creative Suite, video editing tools, and 3D modeling software.
  • Contribute to the development of creative concepts and strategies for multimedia projects used in both marketing communications and educational experiences.
  • Independently manage and execute multiple multimedia projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that multimedia content meets high-quality standards and aligns with the organization's brand guidelines.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing communications specialists, video producers, and educational content creators, to achieve project goals.
  • Implement multimedia content strategies, including optimizing content for various platforms and managing content schedules.
  • Serve as liaison with external agencies specializing in web development, video production, and graphic design.
  • Help support content creation and oversee development of social media posts.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
