Shaw Industries is looking for a Multi-Craft Technician Lead to maintain and ensure capacity of equipment assets in assigned areas of responsibility that impact optimal efficiencies at lowest reasonable cost, while developing and leading associates within the reliability group. POSITION EXPECTATIONS: Execution of assigned tasks and duties with focus on: Maintaining safe work practices Providing high quality, precision work with a customer service orientation in support of “Great Products & Service” Adhering to standards and best practice application acquired through training and work experience Sharing feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership Growing maintenance knowledge and application skills through mentoring Reliability Tech levels D through B3, while continuing to grow in knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, understanding their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives POSITION DUTIES & TASKS: Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to highest, reasonable performance levels to include mechanical systems including, but not limited to: Power transmission components - bearings, pulleys/sheaves, shafts/rollers, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, motors, and gearbox Conveyance systems – product/process related, as well as those tied to utilities such as steam, water, air, electricity, etc. which could include pumps, piping, etc. Mechanical control systems - including related hydraulic & pneumatic elements Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to highest, reasonable performance levels to include electrical systems including, but not limited to: Electrical system components - MCC’s, inverters, motors, etc. Control systems - PLC’s, robotics, and other associated automation equipment Execute, lead, and assist in development of proactive maintenance plans, including planned jobs on assigned equipment to include: Preventive Maintenance (PM) - inspection & measurement of equipment components for proper function, including replacement of components on pre-defined schedules and lubrication. Predictive Maintenance (PdM) – inspection and measurement of equipment performance applying Infrared Thermography, collection of oil samples for outside analysis, and basic ultrasound measurement with audible evaluation. Condition Maintenance (CM) – repair and replacement of components identified as requiring attention through PM & PdM activities or because of emergent machine issues, including influence in the development of detailed job plans Mentor Multi-craft Tech levels D through B3 in development of work-related skills Execute assign, and schedule work orders in support of projects and process improvement (PI) efforts identified as critical to business objective, including support for PRIDE goals Order parts and coordinate vendor services for various equipment issues and PMs Make sure the maintenance shops and office spaces stay clean, and that proper housekeeping is performed daily, including but not limited to removing the trash, sweeping and organizing the shop Perform as relief supervisor as needed Available “on call” during scheduled times if applicable; during the “on call” times, individual will be available to provide advice, assistance, and physical support if the problem requires
