About The Position

The Multi-Craft Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing systems and equipment. This role is central to driving productivity and continuous improvement by managing both mechanical and electrical infrastructure, optimizing equipment reliability, and implementing advanced automation solutions. The supervisor plays a critical role in upholding safety standards, minimizing downtime, and optimizing resource utilization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 5+ years demonstrated industrial manufacturing experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process.
  • 5+ years previous industrial electrical, mechanical and automation experience
  • 1+ years of previous leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Advanced of industrial electrical systems, motor control theory, and NEC, NFPA, 70E and industrial control guidelines
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&ID’s and technical manuals
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues with PLC logic, HMI applications and automation network communications
  • Proficient in preventive and predictive maintenance techniques for electrical and automation equipment
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team building skills with commitment to talent development

Responsibilities

  • Champion a proactive safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards (NEC, NFPA, 70E, OSHA) and company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-skilled maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, engagement and continuous learning.
  • Provide expertise and technical guidance to the team in diagnosing, and resolving complex electrical, mechanical, and automation issues on equipment, machinery and systems.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance processes and performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs and facilitate the development of electrical, mechanical and automation skills within the team
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of work order documentation, including labor hours, parts used, and failure codes by the maintenance team
  • Oversees contractor work for safety, compliance and completion. Informs the accounting team for accurate receipt of services rendered.
  • Partner with reliability teams to integrate findings from predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, oil analysis) into mechanical maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure all mechanical work is performed according to manufacturer specifications, engineering drawings, blueprints, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the hands-on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and specialized production machinery.
  • Lead the maintenance team on major mechanical repairs, overhauls, and equipment rebuilds, minimizing disruption to production.
  • Respond to emergency mechanical breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and implement effective solutions to restore equipment to operational status quickly.
  • Oversee the integrity, maintenance, and optimization of all plant electrical systems, including high, medium, and low voltage power distribution, substations, motor control centers, emergency power generation, plant-wide electrical infrastructure..
  • Ensure timely execution and accurate documentation for preventative (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance programs for critical electrical and mechanical assets.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including electrical schematics, equipment manuals and maintenance records.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure availability of critical electrical and mechanical spare parts, materials and necessary tools; provide insight on stock levels for electrical and mechanical parts and assist in identifying alternative or upgraded parts.
  • Manage the use of consumables and resources efficiently within the maintenance budget.
  • Participate in maintenance scheduling meetings (weekly and outage) by balancing craft labor availability with the ready work backlog, to optimize cost, maximize work efficiency and completion.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for complex issues related to automated manufacturing systems, including PLC’s, HMI’s, servo drives, etc.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of advanced automation systems, including PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal), SCADA/HMI systems (e.g., Wonderware), robotics (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, ABB), servo motion control, machine vision, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
  • Champion Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) principles within the electrical, mechanical, and automation space.
  • Ensure PM schedules are being timely executed and accurately documented.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing) focused on enhancing equipment uptime, reducing waste, and optimizing maintenance costs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to advance electrical and automation capabilities.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
