About The Position

James Irwin Elementary School – Howard Campus is seeking a highly organized, student-centered professional to serve as MTSS/504 Clerk & Assistant to the Dean. This role supports student success through a combination of administrative support, student discipline coordination, MTSS/504 processes, and basic student health services. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, with a strong ability to build relationships with students while maintaining structure and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Infinite Campus experience a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Dean of Students Support
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Dean of Students
  • Assist with student discipline processes, including documentation and recordkeeping
  • Communicate with parents regarding student behavior and maintain accurate records
  • Support enforcement of school policies and student conduct expectations
  • Help coordinate student activities, programs, and incentives
  • Schedule and support detention or intervention supervision as needed
  • MTSS / 504 Coordination Support
  • Support implementation and monitoring of MTSS and 504 plans
  • Assist with 504 plan development, annual reviews, and eligibility processes
  • Conduct regular student check-ins and monitor grades/assignments
  • Communicate with families and staff to support student success
  • Collect and track data related to student performance and interventions
  • Support manifestation hearings and behavior plans for identified students
  • Health Aide Support
  • Provide basic first aid and care for minor student illnesses or injuries
  • Monitor students who feel unwell and follow school procedures
  • Assist with medication administration per school guidelines
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health needs
  • Maintain a clean and organized health office
  • General Office Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for students, staff, and families
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student information
  • Manage office tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
  • Assist with reports, documentation, and school-wide communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned
