About The Position

Copper River Consulting Group is seeking an experienced MS Power Platform Architect to support the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Human Resources Directorate (HRD) in Arlington, Virginia. This role is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining robust Microsoft 365 solutions—including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Online, and Power BI—while transforming complex HR data into actionable, executive-level insights. The ideal candidate is a full-stack Microsoft Power Platform expert who can design scalable back-end architectures and deliver intuitive, high-impact analytics and dashboards in support of Department of Defense (DoD) leadership decision-making. This position is on-site at the Mark Center.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data analysis and Microsoft 365 Power Platform development
  • Expert-Level Experience: Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint Online, and Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven)
  • Working Knowledge: Dataverse, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive
  • Familiarity with Copilot and AI-enabled automation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical executive leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working directly with government clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and customize Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and SharePoint Online environments.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable MS 365 solutions aligned with WHS HRD mission requirements.
  • Configure and manage integrations across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related M365 services to deliver a unified user experience.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to federal security, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Proactively analyze complex HR datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards that integrate data from multiple enterprise sources.
  • Perform data transformation and modeling, including source-to-target mappings and information model specifications.
  • Develop data mining reports and analytics products to support workforce planning and strategic HR initiatives.
  • Partner with team members and government stakeholders to assess current-state system maturity and define the future “to-be” state for automation and analytics.
  • Contribute to modernization roadmaps for workflow automation, data visualization, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Stay current with Microsoft 365 enhancements, including Copilot and AI-driven capabilities, and proactively recommend efficiency and capability improvements.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to WHS HRD and DoD leadership.
