About The Position

As a Move Out Eco-Rep, you will support the Office of Sustainability’s Ditch the Dumpster & Donate program to achieve their goals of diverting as much waste as possible from the landfill and making the move-out process more eco-friendly. You will assist in managing the donation stations to ensure that good quality clothing, furniture, and household item donations are collected and sorted into the proper storage location.

Requirements

• Available to sign up for at least 2 four-hour shifts (8AM – 12PM, 12PM – 4PM, 4PM – 8PM) between Wednesday, May 20 to Saturday, May 23.
• You must attend a training course prior to move out week (several date and time options will be available, as well as virtual options) consisting of general instruction on what items should be accepted/rejected, where the different donation streams will be, other communication and coordination instructions.

Responsibilities

• Direct students and parents as they sort their donations into various streams, including clothing, furniture, household items, electronic waste, etc.

Benefits

• Late move-out will also be offered to Move Out Eco-Reps living in Chapman residence halls, with an extension given until Monday, May 25 at 12pm (noon.)
