The Mountain Camp Supervisor ensures campers are supervised, engaged, and following developmentally appropriate practices. The Mountain Camp Supervisor will ensure that the counselors are supervised, well-trained, and that the facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. This is a full-time seasonal position, compensation begins at $23.00/hour.
Requirements
- High School diploma, or equivalent, required
- Knowledge of child development, theories, and practices
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective written & verbal communication
- Passion for Nature Based programming
Nice To Haves
- College course work related to child development or education, preferred
- Experience working with kids between 3-10 years old
- Camp counselor experience, preferred
- 1 to 2 years supervision and staff management experience, preferred
Responsibilities
- Fosters communication between parents and counselors through daily interactions
- Oversee three camp groups between ages 3-10
- Assist with activity planning, organizing, and provide feedback as needed
- Assist with the set up and planning for camp before the season starts
- Encourage and assist counselors with transitions and behavior management
- Conduct and document monthly safety meetings per Stratton requirements ensuring the departments compliance with Stratton safety protocols
- Perform or assist with administrative tasks
- Resolve staff conflict in a respectful and timely manner
- Responsible for overseeing the summer camps during any short term Child Care Manager absence
- Must be willing to cover all camp groups as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
