About The Position

Woodward Tahoe (Boreal and Soda Springs), located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range, is a year-round world-class action sports facility with a culture that comes straight from our main product: Fun. The Mountain Bike Coach’s mission is to foster a positive and nurturing environment for kids while at camp. Coaches are expected to teach campers in all aspects of action sports relative to the camper’s ability. Applicants must have strong skills within their sport and strong communication skills. Coaches instruct campers in carious camp sports and activities and they are responsible for up to 10 campers between the ages of 5-17. Further, they are responsible for the daily needs of each camper when they are not in instructional sessions. This includes eating meals with them, making sure they get to activities on time, helping them call home, etc. What's in it for you? Requirements

  • Intermediate or stronger skills in downhill Mountain Bike
  • Basic Bike Maintenance Skills
  • Experience working with children
  • Strong, diverse communication and effective group management skills
  • Create an inclusive, friendly, and safe environment for learning and progression

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality instruction for safe skill progression and a fun learning environment
  • Develop caring relationships with campers and help provide the best camp experience
  • Make sure the basic needs of your campers are met, both physiological and emotional
  • Be present and assist with camper check-in and check-out procedures, communicate with parents daily
  • Be aware of injuries, special needs, allergies, and/or mediations and communicate with medical staff and parents
  • Participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm and encourage campers to do the same
  • Always uphold the highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior: arrive on time, maintain a positive and friendly attitude, behave in a manner appropriate to our youngest campers (4 years old)
  • General cleaning and maintenance of facilities, including the Bunker, Cafeteria, Meeting Areas, and campus, and other duties as assigned
