About The Position

As a Mortgage Processing Specialist, you will play a key role in preparing application materials for real estate customers, ordering required property documentation, and gathering the information needed for submission to underwriting for credit approval and post-closing processes. You will use your knowledge of banking laws and regulations related to real estate to partner closely with loan officers and support loan documentation and compliance needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and the initiative to work independently. You will also make non-routine decisions within compliance guidelines, with appropriate supervision and support. In addition, our FIRST Values apply to all teammates without exception. Requirements

  • Secondary education in related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct relationships in a manner that ensures cooperation and positive results.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of concern for professional and innovative customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Mortgage Loan Operations Responsible for various processes and activities involved in the origination and management of mortgage loans.
  • Provide timely and accurate production of application and real estate disclosures for residential mortgage and home equity loans.
  • Order required property and borrower documentation.
  • Coordinate the management of the processing pipeline with lending teams to ensure documentation is requested and received timely from the customer.
  • Initiate file submissions to underwriting to obtain approved with conditions or approved loan status.
  • Coordinate with lending teams to ensure prior to close loan conditions are addressed and satisfied in a timely manner.
  • Quality Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures of the bank in order to keep errors to a minimum to reduce internal and external friction.
  • Independently comprehend and interpret mortgage compliance regulations.
  • Proactively engage supervisor and team members with questions.
  • Review team member work for accuracy.
  • Organize and maintain accurately indexed real estate loan files.
  • Assist with Quality Control functions of the department as needed.
  • Partner with Others Partner with others to ensure team goals are met.
  • Participate in cross-functional training to support all areas within the department.
  • Champion change management initiatives and serve as a role model for change in the organization.
