About The Position

This person oversees all areas of support for the processing of mortgage loans for their staff including daily supervision, guidance and coordinating backup to the loan processors that report to them. Responsible for assisting with pre-close and post-close quality control responses as well as post-close suspense and audit findings. Monitors and assists with the review and completion of adverse loans to meet compliance requirements. Qualifications: This person should have a bachelor’s degree plus five years of prior mortgage loan processing experience or the equivalent. Good communication skills and collaboration with others is required. Experience in all mortgage loan processing concepts, practices, and procedures is preferred. Principal Responsibilities: Lead the team and develop an atmosphere of teamwork, open communication, and unity. Provide oversight of all services offered. Actively mentor staff and ensure they are trained, evaluated, and motivated to perform their responsibilities in an effective and progressive manner. Manage processing pipelines including a pipeline of your own files. Coordinate backup when needed for your respective mortgage loan processors to ensure all loans are processed completely, accurately and within expected timeframes. Provide training and ongoing guidance to the mortgage loan processors, ensuring they have a complete understanding of all agency and investor guidelines and loan types including but not limited to FHA, VA, Rural Development and Private Mortgage Insurers requirements. Have a strong understanding of all mortgage regulations including but not limited to Fair Lending, RESPA, Reg B and Reg Z, including TRID. Establish consistent, efficient procedures and practices for processing mortgage loans. Work with mortgage team leads and management to create partnerships and provide feedback and recommendations based on observations of other areas of mortgage. Identify, report, and assist with issues and changes needed within the loan origination software to improve the quality and efficiency of loan processing and other areas. Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with customers, realtors, third party service providers and co-workers. Work with the Mortgage Quality Assurance Officer to respond to QC and other audit and review findings. Help identify the root cause for repeat findings, suggest, and help implement solutions. Work closely with the Origination, Closing, Post-Closing and Underwriting areas to ensure the accuracy of the files from origination through funding. Work with post-closing to resolve investor suspense items and post close audit findings. Help identify patterns in the findings. Work with management to come up with solutions for repeat findings. Work closely with Loan Servicing, assisting in reconciling mortgage general ledger accounts. Manage the Adverse pipeline to be sure the team is cancelling loans in a timely fashion. Know and understand the regulations and processes to be able to train, answer questions and assist as needed. Attend all team meetings and training seminars as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
