About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing mortgage loan closing packages, instructions, approving final Closing Disclosures for all first mortgage and home equity products in accordance with loan policy. This position is also responsible for courteous and effective communication with all interested parties including title companies and attorneys throughout the closing process.

Requirements

  • Ability to use various types of office equipment, including personal computer and peripheral devices
  • Thorough knowledge of Conventional mortgage loan closing documentation requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of RESPA guidelines
  • Intermediate to advanced communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experience with title commitments, contracts, surveys and closing documents
  • Experience with TRID approval and funding process
  • Strong organizational skills Excellent oral communication and writing skills
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Must be motivated self-start and adapt to changing environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus specialized course work and training
  • Good understanding of the Bank’s loan products and services

Responsibilities

  • Produces and sends out closing documents in a timely manner.
  • Communicates professionally with settlement agents, title companies and co-workers.
  • Ensures files received from the Processing Department are ready to proceed to closing.
  • Schedules/coordinates closing with Processing Department, settlement agents, title companies and branch employees.
  • Verifies that all underwriting conditions have been satisfied prior to releasing closing documents.
  • Ensures that the proper product and loan terms are on the loan closing documents
  • Verify data entry of actual closing costs and prepaid charge information on closing documents
  • Ensures that all title conditions have been met and cleared prior to closing.
  • Coordinates the closing date with the Processing Department and communicates the final closing costs with settlement agent.
  • Effectively answers settlement agent and title company questions prior to and on the date of closing.
  • Prepares funding sheets for Loan Operations
  • Ensures that our LOS is updated with the correct lock information, including loan type, loan amount, rate, term, and pricing, so that the loan is closed, priced and delivered correctly.
  • Works with our investors and the Accounting Department to reconcile all funded loans, ensuring the correct fees, rate, and adjustments were charged.
  • Acts as a resource to employees regarding product questions, loan pricing, extension pricing, and other relevant issues, as needed.
  • Works closely with Loan Compliance Analyst to collect post-closing trailing documents to ensure full file delivery to the Bank and the Secondary Market
  • Keeps manager informed of customer complaints and problems as well as any follow up actions.
  • Works in collaboration and partnership with other team members. Supports Cornerstone Bank’s quality initiative through teamwork and quality of service to internal and external customers
