This role can be based anywhere in the state, with a preference for candidates who live within 30 miles of a First Service Bank branch. This allows you to stay connected to our community-driven culture while enjoying statewide flexibility. We’re looking for a Mortgage Loan Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves staying organized, and enjoys helping customers through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in mortgage, banking, or financial services preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and RD loans
Responsibilities
- Support Loan Officers with new loan applications and file setup
- Collect and review borrower documentation (income, assets, credit, etc.)
- Communicate with borrowers to request missing information
- Enter and update data in the Loan Origination System (LOS)
- Monitor loan files to ensure completeness before processing
- Coordinate with processors, underwriters, title companies, and appraisers
- Track deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide exceptional service from application through closing
