About The Position

SWBC is seeking a talented individual that processes loss draft files, working them from the notification of the loss until the file closes. This role involves communicating with the homeowner, their contractor, and other third parties engaged in the property repair process. The specialist will review claim and contractor documents for accuracy, order and review inspection results to ensure repairs are made, determine disbursement eligibility based on processing guidelines, and partner with financial institutions to assist borrowers through the property loss repair process. This position offers a direct impact in a niche market, helping borrowers recover from disaster or damaging events, and managing multiple stakeholders to coordinate home repairs, leading to customer and client satisfaction. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of insurance claims processing and/or mortgage servicing background experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites such as Excel, and Word and data entry systems such as AS400.

  • Excellent phone etiquette and professionalism.
  • Able to research and effectively analyze and interpret information from multiple sources, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Able to attend an initial on-the-job training session.

  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, working items received via inbound phone call, production queue and email.
  • Able to work flexible schedules Monday – Friday and overtime, including Saturdays as required.
  • Able to follow directions and apply established procedures.
  • Able to type 35 WPM.
  • Able to travel locally or nationally by car or plane.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time while answering incoming calls, entering data, or performing other sedentary duties.
  • Able to stand, stoop, and kneel to file for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull 10 – 20 lbs. of files, reports, or other documents/manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Notate activities and conversations accurately regarding the loss draft claim file in Loss Draft Tracking system, clearly providing a status.
  • Work on assigned files via tasks in production queue.
  • Resolve processing situations which occur on the assigned files, understanding the guidelines and providing recommended solutions to management.
  • Identify the actions to be taken to progress the claim, then set-up processing tasks (such as property inspections, disbursement requests, and other activities).
  • Answer inbound calls from the borrowers and other third parties, and/or listen and respond to voicemails.
  • Adapt and apply updated guideline/procedural changes timely.
  • Communicate with the financial institution regarding the loss draft file per documented procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
