About The Position

The Montana State Library (MSL) is seeking applications for a Montana Shared Catalog Trainer. This is a full-time, permanent position that is eligible for all applicable state benefits and retirement. The position is located in Helena and is eligible for remote work within the State of Montana. You will be the subject matter expert that designs materials and curriculum for the Montana Shared Catalog (MSC) Training Program. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and presenting training materials online and onsite for MSC member library staff.

Requirements

strong verbal and written communication skills
skilled in public speaking and can perform in person and online training
understand information technology principles and practices
be familiar with library administration, cataloging and circulation procedures and standards
know how to configure and resolve problems in an integrated library system (ILS)
bachelor's degree in education or information technology and 2 years of experience working as a trainer and help desk support
Employees of the State of Montana must be state residents or establish residency within an agreed upon timeframe.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States on a permanent basis at the time of application.

Responsibilities

Lead training efforts by scheduling, communicating, organizing materials, and providing training on all facets of the integrated library system.
Create and update training resources.
Survey and assess provided training.
Provide technical support and assistance for member libraries.
Respond to first level help desk tickets to resolve user access issues.
Assist other MSC staff with developing solutions for system conflicts.
