The Job Summary is to coordinate an in-school suspension program providing structured academic and counseling experiences for students referred for violating school regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 1-3 years Directly applicable experience working with individuals and groups of children considered “difficult” or “disruptive”
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains a constructive learning environment.
- Secures lesson assignments from classroom teachers and monitors work.
- Provides assistance and remedial instruction in completing assignments.
- Identifies special needs and secure available resources.
- Provides for individual and group exploration of problem behavior and alternatives.
- Collaborates with staff to facilitate successful reintegration into the student’s regular program.
- Maintains necessary records on students in program.
- Conducts parent conferences when appropriate.
- Conducts follow-up evaluation of student’s learning program.
