Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field Required
  • 1-3 years Directly applicable experience working with individuals and groups of children considered “difficult” or “disruptive” Required

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains a constructive learning environment.
  • Secures lesson assignments from classroom teachers and monitors work.
  • Provides assistance and remedial instruction in completing assignments.
  • Identifies special needs and secure available resources.
  • Provides for individual and group exploration of problem behavior and alternatives.
  • Collaborates with staff to facilitate successful reintegration into the student’s regular program.
  • Maintains necessary records on students in program.
  • Conducts parent conferences when appropriate.
  • Conducts follow-up evaluation of student’s learning program.
