Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business field of study.
  • Twelve years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.
  • Implementation knowledge of OSHA industry health and safety regulations.
  • Operational knowledge of management information systems, use of personal computers and application software.
  • Extensive manufacturing management experience in a high volume, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, problem solving and people skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily team meetings and offer ideas/suggestions that contribute to meeting the performance objectives for the Molding Department (Molding KPI’s)
  • Coordinate the utilization of Molding facilities, equipment, materials and employees to meet departmental performance objectives.
  • Train team leaders and team members in developing teamwork skills and team oriented activities in a positive working environment.
  • Manage Molding activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of employees to ensure product quality and delivery.
  • Track time sheets, attendance records and ensure that all performance reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and ensure that all personnel issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement ergonomic cell layouts to optimize process flows and eliminate non-value-added activities through the principles of synchronous manufacturing.
  • Ensure strict compliance to all IATF procedures and monitor development and compliance of all work guidances on the floor.
  • Participate in the advanced product quality planning activities for the development of control plans and work guidances.
  • Guide departmental continuous improvement activities and participate as requested.
  • Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist the Mold Schedulers as needed to create and modify Press & Secondary Machine Schedules.
  • Support and manage continuous improvement projects to improve the molding yields / FTC.
  • Work with the Mold Quality group to complete time studies, work cell layouts and Standardized Work sheets for new model programs.
  • Fill-in for and perform Team Leader duties when Team Leader is filling in for production team members on the production floor.
