Individual will be responsible for setting molds into injection molding machines and plastics hot stamping machines and other related equipment to form a variety of parts. Injection Molding Machines: Communicates with shift lead/Reviews schedule to determine the order in which parts will run next in each machine. Removes mold that job has just completed, cleans dryer and all hoppers as needed in accordance with mold setting procedures. Obtains necessary die and parts from tooling and assembler per drawings and process sheets to assemble die in the machine then completes set up of mold in machine. Ensures the correct material is loaded in the dryer and hopper for the new job being loaded into the machine. Notifies Process Tech/Shift lead when machine is ready to start. Hot Stamp: Sets up hot stamping machines utilizing proper dies in accordance with part drawings and procedures. Ensures the correct color transfer tape is being used and adjusts machine pressure, alignment and travel speed to produce an in-specification part. Changes tape roller and feed mechanism as required. Runs 1st piece and ensures 1st piece is in compliance with control plans and drawings before turning over to shift lead for approval and submission to quality for final approval. Must be able to reference control plans for method of operation and quality checking requirements. Keeps hoppers and automatic feeders loaded with raw materials and/or parts. Maintains and adjusts machines as required for them to perform properly. Maintains a clean, orderly work area at all times and fosters an environment of continuous improvement and 5S culture. Performs related work as assigned.
