About The Position

Purpose of Job: Oversee and lead a team of project managers responsible for end-to-end design and delivery across multiple industries to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. Manage the day-to-day work activities of the project management team inclusive of the people, process, systems and measures. Ensure project management services are delivered to customers in a consistent, high quality and professional manner using structured and disciplined practices to ensure project management activities are consistent with company initiatives and expectations. Manage the attainment of financial targets inclusive of annual budget, gross profit and related financial metrics within area of responsibility. Ensure activities are achieved that meet corporate customer satisfaction objectives as well as internal and external SLAs. Lead team to work collaboratively across all levels and departments of the organization and ensure a seamless transition of work activities to execute operations functions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Construction Management Information Systems, Business or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Project Management including direct management experience with track record of increasing Project Management Office responsibilities within the technology services industry.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies such as PMM, Six Sigma and iterative methodologies (such as Agile)
  • Excellent facilitation skills, ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions
  • Experience with IT organization design and management techniques (ITIL, ITSM)
  • Excellent leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results; ability to influence and inspire action through strong decision-making skills.
  • Must possess managerial and leader courage; must be confident managing risks and making decisions that will likely have a large impact on organizational objectives.
  • Excellent service philosophy and understanding the challenges in providing superior customer experience at a national level while controlling costs.
  • Superior collaboration and communication skills: team building, conflict resolution, stakeholder management, risk management, product management, negotiation & decision making.
  • Ability to work effectively across many internal functional groups to optimize product offerings, create a seamless internal and external customer experience and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying talent and building individual and management capability; proven track record of building successful organizations.
  • Proven ability to continuously expand and leverage knowledge of market and industry trends and translating to recommending and implementing process and efficiency improvements.
  • End-to-end process thinker, with proven experience in leading change within an organization and understands how change affects employees and utilizes strategies to reduce risk to the organization.
  • Strong experience handling employee issues and making sound judgment decisions in this area.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, SharePoint, MS Project, PPM tools, ERP, Salesforce.com, workforce management and cloud based technology systems.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and promote Safe Work Practices in accordance with Black Box Safety Programs and client site policies, ensuring every team member stays accident-free every day.
  • Promote and reinforce Black Box Core Values to protect and strengthen company culture.
  • Under the direction of Program Manager or Business Segment Leadership, lead mobilization plans covering workforce planning, logistics, materials, equipment, and site readiness.
  • Lead project mobilization planning from award through site readiness, ensuring labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors are deployed on time.
  • Participate in RFP and pre-award activities, including detailed reviews of plans, specifications, schedules, and bid documents.
  • Conduct Sales/Estimating handoff meeting to Mobilization team.
  • Lead team through Pre-Project Task Plan for mobilization effort and executing pre-project task for each pillar team member: Safety, Engineering, Logistics, Quality, Admin, Management, etc.
  • Review contracts, work orders, and purchase orders to ensure scope alignment with estimates and contractual requirements.
  • Serve as an early client interface to confirm scope, schedule, and mobilization requirements.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations to ensure crews, supervision, and resources are available and prepared for site deployment.
  • Manage mobilization schedules to support cost control, productivity, and contractual milestones.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to streamline startup activities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Communicate mobilization status, risks, and readiness to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on mobilization progress.
  • Support job cost tracking and forecasting in coordination with Project Management and Finance teams.
  • Work with Project Engineers, Coordinators, and Superintendents on RFIs, submittals, and early change events.
  • Monitor early startup activities to ensure productivity aligns with schedule and budget expectations.
  • Partner with QA/QC to ensure mobilization activities align with quality plans and standards.
  • Coordinate submittals, site access requirements, badging, logistics, and customer readiness activities.
  • Transition Mobilization efforts to site team for execution phases.
  • Serve as a Black Box ambassador at all times.
