In this vital role, you’ll work directly with families, landlords, and partner departments to ensure Housing Choice Voucher participants receive the guidance and support they need to successfully transition into opportunity areas. You'll provide hands on mobility counseling, coordinate key program activities, and help families build paths toward long term stability. What You’ll Do As the Mobility Counseling Program Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for program participants and property owners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social services, human services, education, or a closely related field PLUS At least 1 year of experience working with the public in a Housing Choice Voucher program or similar environment.
  • High school diploma PLUS 6 years of full-time paid experience delivering direct services in human services.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and engage families and owners to participate in the Mobility Counseling Program.
  • Brief participants and landlords on program expectations, benefits, and goals.
  • Provide pre move counseling and apartment search support to help families relocate to opportunity areas.
  • Assist families in creating Personalized Action Plans (PAPs) and connect them with needed resources.
  • Monitor PAP progress and update records in SharePoint.
  • Conduct follow up check-ins: 30 day and 120 day post-move visits, plus annual recertification visits.
  • Help families maintain stable tenancies and achieve self sufficiency goals.
  • Support tenants with landlord/tenant issue resolution when needed.
  • Process moves, annual recertifications, interims, ports, and rent adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records in SharePoint and Elite.
  • Prepare files for review, scanning, and compliance oversight.
  • Attend program meetings and provide updates on challenges, successes, and participant progress.
  • Safeguard confidential information and uphold all program regulations.
