About The Position

The Doe Run Company is seeking a mobile equipment mechanic in order to ensure process safety and minimize division downtime. This day shift position at Casteel Underground is located in Bixby, Mo. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and a global provider of lead, copper, and zinc concentrates. Dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, Doe Run operates the Resource Recycling facility, one of the world’s largest, single-site lead recycling centers, located in Boss, Missouri. The company also owns six operating mines in one of the world’s largest lead mining districts, also in Missouri: Brushy Creek, Buick, Casteel, Fletcher/West Fork, Mine 29/Viburnum and Sweetwater. The Doe Run Company, and its subsidiaries deliver products and services necessary to provide power, protection, and convenience. Doe Run has operations in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an industrial maintenance course or auto technology course or one year of auto repair experience or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Valid, current driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with divisional operations (i.e., mining, milling, smelting).
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment, including cranes, forklifts, skid steer loaders, etc.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication, hydraulics/pneumatics, refractory work, bearings/seals, welding, pipe fitting, pump repair, and mechanical repairs.
  • Basic computer skills and diagnostic skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn time management and financial software.
  • Basic literacy skills.
  • Ability to learn to read schematics/blueprints.
  • Demonstrated skill in using small hand tools, measuring, and basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Provide scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage time to provide effective, timely, and efficient repair and maintenance service.
  • Install new equipment and modify existing equipment as required per job site.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
