About The Position

Staff for all 3rd shifts ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provides mobile crisis intervention to adults in Louisville Metro. Assesses the situation, engages and develops rapport, and de-escalates. De-escalates person in crisis and determine what you can do to help them today. Assessment may take place in person in the community, at the individual's residence, etc. Develops a crisis plan utilizing the strengths of the individual and available community resources to resolve the immediate crisis. Facilitates follow-up interventions with the individual. Determines appropriate level of care during the crisis and arrange referrals. Works collaboratively with law enforcement, families, other county departments, schools, acute care services providers, and other community resources to coordinate appropriate crisis resolution and referral. Communicates pertinent information on a timely basis to persons in crisis, MetroSafe call takers and dispatch, LMPD, SCS, and any other appropriate parties while also preserving the dignity and privacy of the person in crisis as much as possible. Completes and coordinates accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all interventions transacted during the work shift. Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to emergency coverage needs. Facilitates a culture of openness and collaboration to ensure all team members are providing accurate, quality, crisis assistance, including accurate documentation. Attends and participates in staff and team meetings. Utilizes person centered and trauma informed approach to each interaction. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six months experience in social services.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of available community resources.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and judgments in stressful or unusual situations.
  • Good supervisory skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field of study (preferred)
