About The Position

The Ministry Director will support and expand the church’s ministry impact by overseeing volunteers, coordinating ministry scheduling, strengthening children’s ministries, leading community outreach efforts, and supporting discipleship group development. This role is ideal for a ministry-minded leader who loves people, has a heart for spiritual growth, and is eager to help others serve the community and one another.

Requirements

  • A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission, values, statement of faith, and distinctives of Northside Church.
  • Passion for ministry leadership with experience in volunteer coordination, children’s ministry, outreach, and small-group discipleship.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including scheduling and communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with pastoral staff, volunteers, and ministry teams.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support volunteer teams for ministries (e.g., kids, outreach, discipleship, hospitality).
  • Develop systems for volunteer communication, training, and wise scheduling to ensure ministries are well-staffed and thriving.
  • Encourage and equip volunteers in their roles through regular communication and celebration of service.
  • Provide oversight and coordination for the kids ministry, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and discipleship-focused environment for children.
  • Plan age-appropriate lessons, events, and experiences that point children to Jesus and support family discipleship.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and child-protection policies and best practices.
  • Partner with church leadership to develop and implement community outreach initiatives that invite connection and Gospel engagement with neighbors.
  • Coordinate opportunities/and information for church members to serve in the community that reflect our value of advancing our city’s good.
  • Foster relationships with local organizations and partners that align with the church’s mission and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Support the development and coordination of small-group discipleship opportunities that help people grow in Christian maturity.
  • Work with group leaders to provide resources, training, and encouragement.
  • Assist in promoting groups and helping church members find the right place to connect.
  • Help teach classes and preach sermons as assigned.
  • Maintain calendars, schedules, and communication for ministry events and meetings.
  • Collaborate with staff to promote ministries through church communication channels (e.g., email updates, bulletin, social media).
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and planning sessions to ensure cohesive ministry strategy.
