The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Mine Supervisor to manage and deliver mining crew assignments and provide leadership to employees in order to meet production goals safely and efficiently. This position is based out of our Brushy Creek Mine in Boss, MO. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mining or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS (UKG), and Invoicing (Dataserv).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of ore extraction and mining process methods preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of MSHA mine safety laws preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and corrective action to employees promptly.
  • Determine, assign, and ensure employees are using their time effectively toward the completion of work assignments.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and promptly, including but not limited to time sheets, production reports, work area inspections, equipment preshifts, and 5000-23 task training documents.
  • Monitor employees and work areas to ensure the safety of the employees and equipment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders including Mine Services, Maintenance, and Mill Departments to ensure efficient and effective site operations.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of utility infrastructure, including power lines, air and water lines, roads, and mine pumps.
  • Partner with other mine leadership and supervision to facilitate optimum performance.
  • Ensure direct reports handle hazardous waste in accordance with all trainings and regulations.
  • Maintain EHS (environmental, health and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
