The Position Mine Foreman / Team Lead Job Summary Position Title Mine Foreman / Mine Team Lead Department/Location Mining/ Andersonville, GA Reports to (Job Title) Mine Manager Direct Reports (Job Title) None Job Summary The Mine Team Lead (Foreman) coordinates the daily activities of mine operators and ensures operational efficiency. This role is responsible for conducting initial field inspections and performing periodic safety and maintenance checks on a diverse fleet of equipment, including dozers, off-road trucks, excavators, farm tractors, auger drills, and service trucks. In addition, the Team Lead/Foreman executes various mining and reclamation tasks as directed by the Mining Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment operation and field leadership within a mining environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of mobile equipment experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to interpret engineering strategies into field actions.
  • Proficiency in email and basic Microsoft Office programs; ability to learn data entry systems for reporting.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Requires routine lifting of heavy objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted, frequent standing or walking, and climbing on/off equipment, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and able to walk up steep grades.
  • Approximately 100% exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, energized equipment, noise, and dusty environments.
  • Must be able to work in hot/cold weather and wear all safety protection equipment.
  • Standard mining hours with the requirement for weekend work as dictated by production needs.

Nice To Haves

  • A Technical Degree is preferred, but not required.
  • A CDL license is considered a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the workflow of mine operators to meet production goals.
  • Ensures all machinery is inspected and maintained to company standards.
  • Acts as a proactive self-starter capable of working independently or collaborating with plant personnel.
  • Is responsible for the quality of incoming ore, and pit/storm water management at the Andersonville mines.
  • Coordinates with the OVB contractor on overburden removal, dirt management, and drainage around various active mines during the stripping campaign.
  • Works closely with the ore hauling contractor for the correct placement of stockpiles, by grade and for delivering the ore to the Plant as directed by the Crude Coordinator.
  • Collaborates with the Mine Engineer on mining strategies related to field operations.
  • Schedules the mine operators who load trucks, push up stockpiles, and perform various other mining and stockpiling duties.
  • Other duties as assigned (ie. Plant specific projects).
  • Participates in mine and plant safety, health and environmental programs, and performs all duties with a strict commitment to safety protocols and company needs.
  • Maintains an indirect reporting line to the Mine Manager.
