About The Position

Since 1948 Acme Industries has been providing high-quality precision manufacturing serving areas in aerospace and defense, power generation, mining, transportation, and a wide range of other sectors. We are seeking experienced Milling Machinists for our 2nd shift openings. Our 2nd shift receives a 10% shift differential (in addition to hourly rate). We also offer a Hire-On-Bonus No waiting period for benefits. Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, Flexible Spending, Life Insurance, The position: We are seeking experienced CNC Milling Machinists to operate different CNC milling machines in our shop utilizing FANUC operating systems. You will be operating machines for valuable castings/forgings to manufacture them into quality parts for customers. Typical 2ND shift hours are 4:20 pm-2:50 am Monday - Friday. Must be available for overtime including weekends and during peak production times. This position offers a hire-on-bonus!

Requirements

• Should be able to read and write English. Basic computer skills are a plus
• Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and experience or equivalent
• Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures
• Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close
• Blueprint reading ability
• Requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times

Responsibilities

• Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications.
• Performs a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finishing specifications.
• Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine.
• Checks parts for conformance to specifications.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
