1st & 2nd SHIFT OKUMA 5 AXIS EXPERIENCED CNC MACHINISTS
About The Position
We are seeking experienced Okuma 5-axis Machinists to join our team on our 1st and 2nd shifts. Our 2nd shift receives a 10% shift differential (in addition to hourly rate). We are seeking experienced Okuma 5-axis Machinists to operate our CNC machines utilizing the OSP-P300 CNC Control. You will be operating machines for valuable castings/forgings to manufacture them into quality parts for customers. Typical 1st shift hours are 6:00 am-4:30 pm and 2nd shift hours are 4:20 pm-2:50 am Monday - Friday. Availability for overtime, including weekends and during peak production times, is a plus. This position offers a hire-on-bonus!
Requirements
- Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and true five-axis experience or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures, specifically the Okuma 5-axis OSP-P300 CNC Control.
- Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close
- Experience with part loading/unloading utilizing a crane and basic material handling knowledge
- Experience with manual clamping/part location as well as
- Experience with tool setup and compensation processes
- Geometric tolerancing and dimensioning trained
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
- Must be able to read and write English. Basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities
- Follow written instructions and read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Performs a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finish specifications.
- Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine.
- Checks parts for conformance to specifications with precision gauges.
- Read and react accordingly to Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports
- Complete problem-solving activities with a continuous improvement mindset
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
