About The Position

Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. seeks an Engineer, Process (Plant) based out of our office in Surgoinsville, Tennessee. This position does not require travel. This position is going to work in the areas of extrusion, brazing, coating and assembly. The initial responsibilities will include evaluating current process, gap analysis from global standards, responsible for equipment, tooling design, documentation, installation of equipment and tooling try out. Cost estimating and launch support. Must be able to make improvements on existing process. This position will also work developing inline inspection and monitoring system. Other key responsibilities would be trouble shooting production issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field of study.
• Six (6) months of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering or related position.
• Experience with, gained through employment or training, Eddy Current Testing.
• Six (6) months of experience with coating process on steel substrate
• Six (6) months of experience with CAD (Solid works and AutoCAD) for design and modeling
• Experience with ERP systems including Bill of Materials (BOM), Routers, Cost estimating, and Materials Management (MM)
• Experience in project management
• Microsoft project, experience with customer portals
• Experience in APQP, PPAP, PFEMA & GD&T
• Six Sigma Certification also required.
