About The Position

As a Process Engineer with OZ Lifting Products, LLC, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing industrial processes to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and safety. You would act as a liaison between design engineering, production management, quality, and continuous improvement staff to implement workflows, efficient processes, standard operating procedure documentation, and production readiness for new product releases.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • 2-5 years or more of experience in an engineering role or internship experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit or similar). Basic understanding of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Working knowledge and experience within an ERP/MRP system. Experience with system integration process a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Attention to detail/accuracy.
  • An ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and stress while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Professional presence in appearance, actions, and personal demeanor when representing OZ Lifting Products.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes while optimizing existing workflows and processes to increase productivity and reduce operational expenses.
  • Work with quality department to identify parts issues and defects and implement in line quality checks and solutions for upfront identification of quality issues.
  • Implement 5S and Lean methodologies to production processes.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks to flow and throughput. Provide hands-on support of the production processes and work with members to troubleshoot problems and to implement improvements,
  • Utilize DMAIC and similar problem-solving techniques for structured problem solving.
  • Ensure compliance of materials and manufacturing for established ANSI, ISO, and product standards.
  • Participate in root cause and failure mode analysis.
  • Initiate and ensure adherence to engineering change order processes.
  • Perform time studies and production build reviews. Assure manufacturing time is captured in bill of materials and assigned to proper work centers. Determine proper takt and cycle times for production scheduling.
  • Develop and implement standard work and balance workloads to the standard work
  • Assist production leadership in addressing downtime related issues and work to keep production flowing.
  • Participation in weekly production meetings.
  • Update technical documentation.
  • Make recommendations about production tooling and equipment for optimizing workflows. Utilize return on investment methodologies to justify capital expenditures.
  • Train members in new production building processes and training involved with manufacturing processes and standard work changes.
  • Set up a new bill of materials, parts, and products in the ERP system.
