About The Position

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a Mill Operator Trainee. This position is responsible for the roll form operations and equipment of the mill to ensure continuous operation during the shift. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday - Thursday from 3:00pm to 1:30am. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Experience in using special measuring devices, callipers, tape measure.
  • Work with experienced operators on equipment safety and operation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to retain information that is being taught and shown to new operator.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude
  • Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
  • Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product.
  • Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.
  • Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Safety, quality, priorities above all
  • Focus on the keeping the mill operational
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S
  • Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups
  • TPM of process and equipment in the area
  • Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
  • Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
  • Minimize scrap
  • Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner.
