JOB SUMMARY The Mill Operator II is responsible for maintaining safe and effective operations within their area of responsibility in the Mill Department. They will work with the Operator I and Utilities to accomplish assigned tasks throughout their shift.

Requirements

  • Basic process knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Mechanical skills with the ability to use hand tools
  • Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operator I to ensure department and shift objectives are accomplished
  • Monitor assigned department processes via D/3 computer system
  • Inspect equipment in the field, troubleshooting as necessary to maintain production objectives
  • Perform daily and assigned housekeeping responsibilities
  • Perform lock outs on assigned equipment
  • Retrieve samples from the field
  • Perform environmental verifications and record as needed
  • Basic oil and greasing of equipment
  • Train employees new to position
  • Operate mechanized equipment
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment
  • Assist in the review and creations of SOPs
  • Completes all required documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
  • Informs supervisor and affected personnel immediately of any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts
  • Follow standard operating procedures, temporary work instructions, and process plans
  • Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
  • Other similar duties as assigned
