About The Position

Pasadena Villa Great Lakes is a residential psychiatric facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. Our campus provides a beautiful modern aesthetic in a therapeutic environment, ideal for healing and recovery, including areas for reflection, outdoor walking trails, a pond water feature, and a state-of-the-art wellness and fitness center. The Milieu Supervisor provides training, scheduling, and immediate supervision for the Behavioral Health Technician team at their designated facility. Position collaborates with the Director of Residential Operations to ensure adequate staffing is maintained, ensuring a high level of client safety and customer service. The Milieu Supervisor provides support for staff and clients in various clinical, nutritional and administrative activities to ensure optimal client outcome. Serves as a trainer and mentor to the Behavioral Health Technicians, providing coaching for continuous quality improvement. Demonstrates a desire and willingness to model the Pasadena Villa mission within job responsibilities and uphold the mission within interactions with others.

Requirements

  • Requires 2+ years of experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferably with complex Mental Health/SUD.
  • Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and acceptable driving record.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides immediate supervision for Behavioral Health Technicians in the oversite of clients throughout their treatment program, ensuring client safety and a high level of customer service.
  • Participates in the hiring process.
  • Provides onboarding training, coaching, mentoring and performance management activities.
  • Creates and maintains team schedules ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
  • Promotes client involvement in the treatment program; supports clients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Performs routine forms of daily client care while assisting and ensuring timely and effective clinical activities, charting and orientation completion.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Services to ensure appropriate emotional support is provided to clients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead group(s) and mentors Behavioral Health Technicians in these efforts.
  • Communicates pertinent client information to the Clinical team in a timely manner.
  • Maintains timely and clinically appropriate documentation, ensures Behavioral Health Technicians are trained in and adhere to documentation processes.
  • Assists with and leads in the timely completion of administrative duties, including but not limited to checklists, answering phones, mail distribution, scheduling.
  • Represents the Behavioral Health Technicians team in treatment team meetings, leadership meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Assists with and leads in the timely completion of housekeeping duties, including cleaning of facilities (i.e. taking out trash, loading and unloading dishwasher, laundry, running errands and other duties as assigned).
  • Leads and facilitates meetings with the Behavioral Health Technicians throughout the year and records minutes.
  • Conducts tours for clients, family members, students, visitors, as requested.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities.
  • Functions within the guidelines of the facility’s Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
  • Conduct chart audits following program policy timelines, as requested.
  • Can be relied upon to be at work as scheduled and is rarely absent from work, notifying the supervisor if absent.
  • Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changes in the facility function, management styles, and facility routines.
  • Reads, understands, adheres to and models all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interests.
  • Maintains positive attitude and acts as a team player with others on the treatment team.
  • Attends all supervisory trainings within assigned time frames as required by the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
