About The Position

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5's Migrant Education Program is seeking teachers for a campus-based summer school program. Teachers will plan, instruct, and assess Migratory/English Language Learner students through daily on-site instruction and will accompany them during educational activities. The primary goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers to make a lasting impact with diverse students!

Requirements

Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate
Required state clearances to work with students

Nice To Haves

Teaching experience preferred
Experience working with migratory students and/or English Language Learners
Reliable transportation to and from the summer campus location

Responsibilities

Create and utilize lesson plans following the Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines
Provide daily on-site instruction to summer school students
Accompany students during educational activities
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of individual students
Maintain accurate and complete records for each student
Implement and enforce all policies and rules
Participate in required professional development at the summer school in-service training
Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, teacher aides, partners, coordinators, and supervisors
Perform other duties as assigned
