About The Position

AES, a division of Lennox established in 1988, is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation. AES has expanded its capabilities to include a Mechanical Services Division and become a Misc. Steel manufacturer, aiming to reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers for General Contractors nationwide. AES operates 4 fabrication facility locations across the nation. The Welder (I) position at the Reno, NV location is a skilled role responsible for performing precise welding tasks, working with materials like galvanized steel and aluminum, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring the quality and integrity of products such as roof curbs and drop boxes.

Requirements

Familiar with safe welding practices.
Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams, or assembly instructions.
Must be physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table.
Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
Individual must be a self-starter and need minimal guidance on daily task.
Must be quality oriented with strong attention to detail.
Individual must have a working knowledge of MIG welding machines with respect to preventive maintenance and control settings to obtain maximum efficiencies.
Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-year previous MIG welding experience.
Able to work with a positive attitude and in a team setting.
Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Trade school or certification in welding.
Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel.

Responsibilities

Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production.
MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
Under direct supervision, spot welds together metal components.
