About The Position

Meadowbrook Academy is currently seeking to hire a full-time Secondary History and English Teacher for the 26/27 school year. This individual should be an active and dedicated Christian who is, or willing to become, a member of Meadowbrook Church. The candidate must be able to hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well-being of others and be committed to excellence in their responsibilities. The job's goal is to provide a Christ-centered educational atmosphere where students can achieve their full potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth and maturation, in alignment with Meadowbrook Academy’s philosophy, goals, and objectives. A Level II Background Screening is a required part of the hiring process.

Requirements

  • Active and dedicated Christian who is, or willing to become, a member of Meadowbrook Church
  • Willing to hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well-being of others
  • Committed to excellence in their responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution
  • Certified OR working towards certification by the State of Florida
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, especially of characteristics of early adolescent (middle school) learners
  • Knowledge of current educational research and best practices for middle school students
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology (Newline Smart Board)
  • Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles
  • Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others
  • Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum student engagement and effectiveness
  • Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test data, and adjusting instruction to improve learning outcomes
  • Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered learning environment
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others
  • Level II Background Screening

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement activities for maximum student engagement and effectiveness
  • Effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test data, and adjust instruction to improve learning outcomes
  • Maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered learning environment
  • Work effectively with peers, administrators, and others
  • Provide a Christ-centered educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth and maturation in accordance with Meadowbrook Academy’s philosophy, goals and objectives
